Serralves Museum

Serralves sits on the west side of Porto and the foundation runs three things: the Álvaro Siza-designed museum opened in 1999, the pink art deco Casa de Serralves built as a merchant's house in the 1930s, and an eighteen-hectare park. The collection is Portuguese and international contemporary work, heavy on installation, film and site-specific commissions, with outdoor pieces through the grounds. Summer brings jazz and live programming, and the park earns a visit on its own.
