Centro Botín stands on the waterfront in Santander, northern Spain, and was Renzo Piano's first building in the country: two volumes lifted on steel columns so the space beneath links the seawall and the city, with the bay in view from the galleries. Run by Fundación Botín, it does three things, exhibitions, creativity training, and social programmes that treat art as a tool, with scholarships and workshops open for applications year round. Programming leans to painting and installation, with a Solange Pessoa solo in autumn 2026. A separate strand explains the building itself, from structure to how daylight enters.
