Vocal Type

Vocal Type 是 Tré Seals 在华盛顿办的独立字体厂，做法是先挑一段历史运动，再去档案里翻当年的标语、横幅与印刷品，把字形里被压扁或拉长的比例抽出来，做成可用的字族。Martin 取自马丁·路德·金的游行标语，VTC 系列陆续做了女性参政权运动、墨西哥裔劳工运动与 LGBTQ 平权的材料。字族不多，每个都配原始的档案图与考据说明，官网还能读到每副字的来路。 🔗 字族: https://www.vocaltype.co/typefaces

Vocal Type is an independent foundry run by Tré Seals in Washington, DC. The method is to pick a historical movement first, then dig through archives for its placards, banners and printed matter and pull the letter proportions that were pressed flat or stretched out into a working family. Martin comes from Martin Luther King's march signs, and the VTC series has since drawn on the suffrage movement, Chicano labour organising and LGBTQ rights material.
