Museo del Barro in Asunción grew out of a 1980s artists and researchers initiative and now joins three collections under one roof: the Museum of Indigenous Art, the Museo del Barro, and the Paraguayan Museum of Contemporary Art. Holdings run from Guaraní ceramics, weaving and featherwork to colonial religious carving and contemporary painting, making it the most complete folk and popular art collection in Latin America.
