Emigre

Emigre 1984 年由 Rudy VanderLans 与 Zuzana Licko 在加州伯克利办起来，先是一本讲平面设计与字体的杂志，后来成了字体厂。Licko 用早期 Mac 的低分辨率点阵起家，做出 Emigre、Oakland 这些在当时看着很粗糙、后来被大量模仿的字；1996 年的 Mrs Eaves 是拿 Baskerville 改出来的衬线，连字与小字母做得讲究，至今还在被用。官网能翻杂志过刊目录、字体样张与作者访谈。 🔗 官网: https://www.emigre.com/

Emigre began in 1984 in Berkeley when Rudy VanderLans and Zuzana Licko started a magazine about graphic design and type, and the magazine turned into a foundry. Licko worked from the low resolution of early Macs and drew Emigre and Oakland, faces that looked crude at the time and were widely copied after; Mrs Eaves in 1996 reworked Baskerville with careful ligatures and small caps and is still in daily use.
